Frequently Asked Questions
Bodywork to help you remember the way.
Does MFR hurt?
In short — no. Myofascial Release is gentle and should never cause injury or force.
Unlike deep tissue massage or trigger point therapy, MFR uses sustained holds to engage the fascial system. While the pressure is firm, it works with your body — not against it.
That said, emotional or energetic discomfort can sometimes arise. Remember, fascia holds memory, and as restrictions release, you may experience waves of sensation, emotion, or recall. This is a natural and meaningful part of the healing process. You will be held in a safe, private room during your session.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s journey is different. Some clients come for just a few sessions to address a specific concern, while others integrate MFR into their ongoing wellness or self-discovery practice.
Often, the body begins to respond meaningfully within the first few sessions. For deeper, long-standing patterns, a series of sessions — spaced regularly — can help support lasting change. We’ll check in regularly to listen to your body’s feedback and adjust as needed. You’re always in choice, and there’s no set timeline for healing.
What happens after my session?
After a session, you may feel lighter, more open, or deeply relaxed. Some people feel energized, while others feel the need to rest — it’s all normal. Because fascia continues to respond and reorganize after treatment, it’s helpful to stay hydrated, move gently, and give yourself time to integrate for a few hours after treatment.
Your body is incredibly wise. The work continues, even after you leave the table.
